Once you have made your first appointment, we will get you to fill out a health history form. This allows us to see how we can help you efficiently and effectively. We will then chat to you about your health concerns and get a clear idea of what is going on. To assess your nervous system and spine we perform posture, range-of-motion, neurological and orthopaedic examinations. We also utilise computerised technology that determines the current health of your nervous system. An adjustment will be given if deemed appropriate and necessary. All up the process takes 30-45 minutes.
At Arete Chiropractic we use low-force adjusting - including Torque Release Technique. The technique involves the use of a handheld instrument called an Integrator. The Integrator works by delivering a light, painless tap into different areas along the spine in order to stimulate the nervous system. A lot of people are put off chiropractic for fear of it being forceful or painful, but you can be rest assured our adjustments are gentle and even relaxing.
It’s up to each patient to choose to come to us for as long or as often as they like. After the initial consultation, we will recommend a schedule of care tailored to each person. Once we have agreed on what will work best, we will re-test after a few visits to assess the progress and make sure we are getting results. Many patients, once they experience how good they can feel with Chiropractic, do choose to come back regularly to keep an eye on things. It’s all up to you.
